Work Experience (WE)

The Work Experience (WE) Wing of the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Kaithal is committed to promoting skill-based, activity-oriented, and experiential learning as an integral component of quality teacher education and school education. The wing aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by fostering productive work, creativity, innovation, and life skills among teachers and learners.

The Work Experience Wing emphasizes the development of positive work ethics, dignity of labour, self-reliance, and environmental responsibility through meaningful learning experiences. It encourages the integration of craft, art, agriculture-based activities, environmental education, health and hygiene, community service, and socially productive work into the teaching-learning process.

In accordance with the guidelines of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), SCERT Haryana, and the Department of School Education, Haryana, the wing facilitates the effective implementation of Work Education as an essential component of holistic education. It promotes learner-centered pedagogical practices that connect classroom learning with real-life situations and community needs.

The wing regularly organizes orientation programmes, capacity-building workshops, demonstrations, exhibitions, and training sessions for teachers and teacher educators to strengthen their competencies in planning and implementing work-based educational activities. It also develops innovative teaching-learning materials and resource support for schools to enhance the effectiveness of Work Experience programmes.

The Work Experience Wing actively promotes vocational awareness, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, environmental conservation, and life skills education. Through collaboration with local artisans, community organizations, subject experts, and educational institutions, the wing provides practical exposure that enables learners to appreciate the dignity of work and develop employability-oriented skills.

In addition, the wing monitors and evaluates the implementation of Work Experience programmes in schools, provides academic guidance and feedback, and encourages the adoption of eco-friendly practices, community participation, and innovative educational initiatives.
