The District Resource Unit (DRU) of the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Kaithal serves as a vital academic support wing dedicated to strengthening school education through community participation, capacity building, educational innovation, and institutional collaboration. The unit acts as a resource centre for teachers, school leaders, educational administrators, and community stakeholders by providing academic guidance, training, and technical support for various educational initiatives.
The DRU works in close coordination with SCERT Haryana, the Department of School Education, Samagra Shiksha, Block and Cluster Resource Centres, School Management Committees (SMCs), Panchayati Raj Institutions, and other stakeholders to improve the quality of education across the district. It promotes community engagement, decentralized educational planning, and effective implementation of government programmes at the grassroots level.
The unit organizes orientation programmes, workshops, seminars, capacity-building initiatives, and field-based activities for teachers, school heads, SMC members, and community representatives. It facilitates the dissemination of innovative teaching practices, educational policies, and best practices to ensure continuous professional development of educators.
The DRU also undertakes educational surveys, field studies, monitoring visits, and need-based assessments to identify challenges faced by schools and recommend appropriate interventions.
